Home Station Geoffrey D.Pendrick

I was first licensed as GW6BEI in 1981 whilst living in Carmarthen, West Wales, operating mainly mobile on VHF and UHF for a number of years. In 2000 I upgraded the licence and was issued with the new call sign M5GAC. I am a member of the Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group and Derby Raynet. I have a Strumech tower which supports a VHF aerial and a rotarydipole for 17, 20, 15 and 10m. A 40m dipole and an inverted L aerial is also in use covering 80m.

Portable Operations
have been from the Scottish Isles of Arran (2003), Bute (2004) and Mull (2005), and from Galloway, using the call sign MM5GAC/P. 2007 was the Centenary year of the Scouting Movement and celebrations took place worldwide. Operating the Special Event Callsign GB5BBS from Whiting Bay on the Isle of Arran, on behalf of Broadway Baptist Scouts, 135th Derby, and the Scouts on the Isle of Arran, 435 contacts were made in 23 different countries.
In 2010 I operated from the Isle of Skye, WAB square NG53, once again using the call sign MM5GAC/P, and in 2012 I was back at Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran.
From the 15th until 27th June 2014 I operated from the Isle of Islay, EU-008, WAB square NR44, using the callsign MM5GAC/P. 900 contacts were made, the station being kept busy until the early hours.
I will be operating from the Isle of Mull, WAB square NM73, from 10th to 22nd July 2016. I will be using the callsign MM5GAC/P and will be on 20m and 40m in the mornings and from late afternoon.
